Our service destination is the Sisters of Charity Training Center of Huruma, located in a slum area near Nairobi The mission, founded by Mother Teresa, cares for abandoned, sick or dying women and children .

Our 2001 service project was building a playground for the children of the Training Center, many of whom are sick or disabled. Volunteers raised needed funds and worked with local craftsmen and artists on the project. The 2002 trip will be a group of health care professionals and educators who will work one-on-one with the Training Center children and mothers.
